Corporate involvements

In Malaysia, the corporate sectors seem aware of the importance of recycling. They started to involve and take part in promoting the importance of recycling as a part of the corporate social responsibilities. This is a very good sign because they can educate people by their doings and involvement and also helping the government to achieved government goals.

A few names that we can be mention who really support recycle such as AEON Co. (M) BHD, TESCO Malaysia, TETRA Pak (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Sony Ericsson and many others.

AEON Co. (M) BHD

Community Recycle Centre

Community Recycle Centre (CRC) at JUSCO Shopping Centre is part of AEON partnership program with Alam Flora Sdn. Bhd.

TESCO Malaysia

Environmentally friendly stores

Since 2008, they have built a series of environmentally friendly stores, each achieving significantly lower

environmental impacts than the previous ones. Many of their energy saving innovations are now incorporated into their standard stores.

Our energy saving alternatives are focused around lighting, water consumption, air-conditioning, refrigeration and architecture design thus making each store more energy efficient.

Re-usable carrier bags

They introduced a range of alternative carrier bags to help customers use lesser carrier bags when they shop. Their customers have saved more than millions of carrier bags

since they introduced Green Clubcard Points scheme in 2008.

Recycling Centre

They launched first recycling centre at Ampang in May

2008. The centre comprises a structure with an office, basic utility and recycling bins to help customers segregate their waste. The daily operations of the centre is managed by their charity partner- Independent Living Home (for the disabled).

  1. Hope the Philippines will soon follow in this type of advocacy. We should all support recycling, since it is our HOME at stake. Thanks for sharing this. - Mar
